Halil İstemi GÜREL

Born in Izmir in 1933, İstemi Gurel completed his primary education at Karşıyaka Ankara Elementary School. After graduating from middle school and completing his first year of high school at Robert College, he went to study in England and graduated from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland. Then, he returned to Turkey and completed his military service at Izmir NATO Headquarters. He started his career at Sunel Ticaret Türk A.Ş., which is his family business, worked at each level and received professional training for business. He still serves as the Honorary President of the Board of Sunel Ticaret Türk A.Ş. He is one of the founders and board members of Çimentaş Health and Education Foundation. Getting inspiration from the education he received at Robert College, he carried out various activities at the schools of Izmir and pioneered many innovations. He is married with 3 children. He speaks one foreign language.
