Prof. Dr. M. Cemali DİNÇER
He graduated from the Middle East Technical University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Industrial Engineering. Then, he went to study at Stanford University with NATO scholarship and got his master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Statistics; then, he got his doctor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management. As Bilkent University was being established, he got an invitation from the USA to work at the Department of Industrial Engineering and participated in the first academic staff of Bilkent University in 1986. Upon completing his 10th year at Bilkent University, he entered the private sector and served as the General Manager of Yeni Asır Newspaper. Then, he established the Faculty of Communication as well as the Faculty of Computer Sciences at Izmir University of Economics as the Founding Dean of the same university. Upon establishing the first Department of Software Engineering in Turkey at undergraduate level, he started the Department of Computer Engineering, the Department of Industrial Systems Engineering and the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering. After working as the General Manager of IzAIR between 2006 and 2007, he served as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering as well as the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at Istanbul Bilgi University in 2011. Subsequent to his return to Izmir, he served as an Advisory Board Member of Izmir Science Park and the Vice Rector of IEU; then, he started working in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Yaşar University on September 1, 2014. First, he served as the Academic Office Director; then, he was assigned as the University Rector on June 1, 2015. Also, he is one of the board members of Çimentaş Education and Health Foundation and one of the independent board members of Çimentaş and Çimbeton.
Prof.Dr. M. Cemali Dinçer received many awards especially from Stanford University, wrote national and international articles published by important publishers and refereed journals as well as different books and book chapters. He also took part in many industrial projects including the projects of Aselsan, Petkim and Asmaş.
