Gürol ÖZER

Born in Tarsus in 1969, Gürol Özer graduated from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Middle East Technical University in 1991, completed his master’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Çukurova University in 1996, and completed the MBA program at the IEDC Bled School of Management in 2014. Beginning his professional career in the cement sector in 1991, Gürol Özer took on managerial responsibilities in production, investment and information technologies in the early stages of his career. Between 2014 and 2018 he served as Deputy Technical General Manager at Çimsa Çimento Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş.; during this period, in 2017-2018, he simultaneously served as General Manager of Afyon Çimento Sanayi T.A.Ş. In this period he led projects in operational efficiency, large-scale investments, digitalization, energy management and sustainable production. Subsequently, he served as General Manager at CSG Mühendislik A.Ş., responsible for managing engineering, project management and technical consultancy activities for industrial facilities. As of July 2019 he joined Çimentaş İzmir Çimento Fabrikası T.A.Ş., where he still serves as Technical Operations Director, responsible for the technical and operational management of production facilities, energy efficiency, digital transformation and the implementation of sustainability strategies. In addition, since June 2023 he has served as a Board Member of Süreko Atık Yönetimi A.Ş., providing corporate governance contributions in the fields of circular economy, waste management and environmental sustainability. With his strong engineering background, multi-site operations management experience and sustainable-development-oriented leadership approach, Gürol Özer is a senior executive who observes the balance between industry, the environment and society. He is married and the father of a child who is a graduate of Işıkkent Education Campus.
